The TapTap! Single is available in two versions:

Standard (Normally Open)

The standard version works with all effect pedals that support an external momentary footswitch (except Boss and Roland effect pedals) - as a tap tempo pedal or, for example, as a bank manager for The GigRig G2 / G3.

By default, the TapTap! Single connects tip to sleeve (like all other tap tempo pedals), it can then be used with a regular mono cable (TS).

It can also be used with all effect pedals that are compatible with a 2-way switch or a (diode-isolated, no Strymon) 3-way switch.
The mini switches allow you to configure which of the two or three footswitches the TapTap! Single represents - it then requires a stereo cable (TRS).

Mini switch 1 ON: Connect tip to sleeve
Mini switch 2 ON: Connect ring to sleeve
Both mini switches ON: Connect tip & ring to sleeve

The configurability also makes it compatible with some effects that expect proprietary switches:

Strymon: Both mini switches ON - compatible with Strymon BigSky, Deco, DIG, Flint, Mobius, TimeLine and Volante
TC Electronics Flashback 2: Mini switch 2 ON - the Flashback 2 must be configured in the editor to use an external tap tempo button

Boss (Normally Closed)

This version is expected by all Boss and Roland effect pedals. It can also be configured internally whether the momentary footswitch connects tip or ring to sleeve. In combination with a Boss RC-5 Loop Station, for example, you can set whether the TapTap! Single controls the Stop or Memory Shift function.
