The Patchbox Trio is very compact and versatile.

For example, it can be used as the input and output of the pedalboard and for the amp channel switch. Channel 1 can (but does not have to) be used as an input with mute functionality, wireless bypass or as an insert.

Setup examples

Any mono or stereo signals can be passed through all three channels (no speaker level signals).

Channel 1 comes with Mute, Override & Insert functionality (a detailed explanation of these special features can be found at the end of the patchbox category page).

If the special features are not needed, the patchbox can be mounted on the pedalboard rotated by 180 degrees (see last example).

If the first channel is used as an input for a mono signal, it mutes itself (and thus the input of the pedalboard) as soon as the white outer socket is not in use. This prevents unwanted noise.

A wireless receiver is connected to the first channel using an insert cable.
If the white outer socket is empty, the signal from the wireless receiver is routed directly to the first effect. If a guitar is connected to the outer socket via cable (mono), its signal is routed directly to the first effect and the wireless receiver is muted.
Very useful as a backup or if you want to play via cable spontaneously.

You could also add an effect or a volume pedal to the signal path with another insert cable in the outer socket.

Suitable insert cables include “EBS ICY-30” or “Rockboard Flat Patch Y-Splitter”.

If the Mute, Override & Insert functionality is not required, the patchbox can be mounted on the pedalboard rotated by 180 degrees (the white socket is then permanently in use on the pedalboard side).
The patchbox then has three regular through channels for mono or stereo signals without any special features.
