The Patchbox Quintett BASIC is a variant of the Patchbox Quintett GEN 4, but without special features.
It has the same custom made aluminum enclosure as the Patchbox Quintett GEN 4, which – in contrast to the usual die-cast enclosures – has a major advantage: The side walls are absolutely parallel to each other, which prevents mechanical stress on the circuit board and the sockets. A little more expensive to manufacture, but absolutely worth it. This also makes the patchbox about 30% smaller and lighter than in a die-cast enclosure – with the same socket spacing of 19 mm.
