This version is expected by all Boss effects. Internally, you can set whether the footswitch connects tip or ring to sleeve. In combination with a Boss RC-5 Loop Station, for example, you can set whether the Aux-Tap Single NC controls the Stop or Memory Shift function.

By default, the Aux-Tap Single NC connects tip to sleeve, it can then be used with a regular mono cable (TS).
