This Aux-Tap is an expandable resistor ladder aux switch for MIDI controllers from Morningstar.
Since firmware 3.12, Morningstar has made it possible to connect up to 8 (MC3, MC6 MKII, MC8) or up to 16 (Pro series) external footswitches.
Modular expandable
Several Aux-Tap Quad Resistor Ladder can be connected in series with regular mono patch cables.
Expand your Morningstar controller with up to 8 external footswitches (MC3, MC6 MKII and MC8) or up to 16 external footswitches for controllers from the Pro series.
Only one Omniport on the controller is used, the others are still available for expression pedals, for example.
Well thought-out design
Thanks to the custom-designed aluminium enclosure, Aux-Taps have a place on every pedalboard - preferably in the first row.
The very high-quality and quiet footswitches are easy to operate thanks to the sufficient spacing and slight forward tilt.
All connections are located on the sides so that effects can be placed directly behind the Aux-Tap - they are also easy to reach thanks to the enclosure height of less than 3 cm. The connections are offset slightly inwards in the enclosure so that the jack plugs do not protrude far.
Calibration process
Calibrating/assigning different functions to the individual footswitches is very simple, the following is a brief guide.
- Connect to the editor
- Go to Controller Settings >> Configure Omniport, set Omniport 1 to Resistor Ladder Aux Switch.
- Save your settings and restart your controller to load the new Omniport settings.
- Go to Controller Settings >> Configure Omniport again. Click on Calibration Menu.
- Begin the mapping/calibration process. Press and hold down a switch (on the Aux-Tap) to see the Trigger Value on the controller. Map that value to a function in the editor.
