Looperwerk is not a corporation in which the marketing department decides whether sustainability is important or not, but a one-man company, and I believe that careful use of resources is important. Below is a brief overview of the measures I have taken.
High quality components
All sustainability in production is in vain if, for example, after a few years the foot switch is broken and a new purchase is more worthwhile than a repair.
Therefore, I only use components that have proven themselves over many years - I have worked constantly over the last 10 years to improve the reliability and durability of my products.
If a product does break (the rate is well under 1%), I am happy to repair it!
Well thought-out design
Many of my products fulfill multiple use cases. If your setup changes in a few years and you no longer need a product as originally intended, it may solve another problem on your pedalboard and save you from having to buy a new one.
Short transport routes
Work steps that I cannot carry out myself (such as laser cutting and powder coating of aluminum sheets) are carried out by regional companies in neighbouring towns.
Packaging & shipping
I try to generate as little packaging waste as possible. I reuse the boxes from most of the packages I receive and use either received filling material or old newspapers as filling material.
The products are not packed individually in outer boxes, but in thin ziplock bags.
Wherever possible (invoices, accounting, etc.) I use recycled paper.
Shipping is always climate-neutral (by offsetting the resulting CO2 emissions) with DHL GoGreen.
